ABOUT US
Mission Statement
Our mission is to establish a network of in-house and external services focused on the well-being of individuals in the community and the culture that connects them.
We support individuals in low-income and rural communities, particularly those from historically marginalized populations and those who have experienced trauma or are going through significant life transitions. We work to expand access to essential resources, helping individuals build resilience and achieve lasting stability.
Services
Our internal services include free self-guided resources in areas such as:
-
Budgeting
-
Resume building and professional development
-
Preparing for therapy or other appointments
-
Integrating eco-friendly habits without breaking the bank
-
And so much more!
We also continuously develop our external network of resources to connect you to professionals and clinicians who can help you take the next step toward the life you envision for yourself.

Founding Story
Growing Gardens sprouted in 2021 as a seed of hope in the warm Autumn sun by a group of students studying at Miami University in Oxford, OH. The organization was incorporated and granted 501(c)3 IRS tax status in early 2022. Our three founders, Kylee Pierson, Lucy Strange, and Alex Bentley (shown below, left to right) shared a common desire to help turn the tide to a kinder and more accessible tomorrow. Growing Gardens’ founding principles include the belief that all humans have the right to heal and grow. Our mission is to ensure your voice, journey, and future stay yours.
